Warehouse Cleanouts

Warehouse cleanouts clear pallet racking, shelving, dead inventory, packaging waste and abandoned equipment from industrial space. Racking is bolted and often anchored to the slab, so it comes down as a dismantling job rather than a lift-and-load. It is $50 per cubic yard of the space your load takes up, with $150 as the minimum charge, quoted flat before the first item moves.

Warehouse Cleanouts in St. Petersburg, FL

When a warehouse lease ends, a distribution center consolidates, or a decade of dead stock finally has to go, Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal clears the entire building so you can hand back clean, broom-swept square footage. Our crews run full warehouse cleanouts across St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, and the rest of Pinellas County, and we schedule around your shipping windows so receiving and outbound never stop.

A warehouse is not a house. The volumes are bigger, the items are heavier, and there is almost always a landlord walkthrough or a lease turnover deadline attached. We bring enough labor and enough truck capacity to finish in one mobilization instead of dragging a cleanout across three weeks of partial pickups.

What We Remove From Warehouses

  • Pallet racking and industrial shelving – teardown and haul-off of steel pallet rack, cantilever rack, wire decking, uprights, and beams
  • Broken pallets, crates, and skids – wood and plastic, including damaged one-way export crates
  • Dead stock and obsolete inventory – discontinued product, water-damaged goods, and unsellable returns
  • Cardboard and packaging waste – baled or loose, handled through our cardboard recycling service
  • Warehouse office furniture – desks, task chairs, and file cabinets via office furniture removal
  • Scrap metal – conveyor sections, carts, wire bins, hand trucks, and machine frames through scrap metal removal
  • Electronics and e-waste – barcode scanners, monitors, servers, and UPS units via electronics recycling
  • Tenant-improvement debris – drywall, framing, and ceiling grid left behind after build-outs (construction debris removal)
  • Mezzanine decking, work benches, and storage lockers

What we cannot take: we are not a hazardous waste contractor. We do not remove drums of solvents, waste oil, paint, industrial chemicals, asbestos-containing material, pressurized cylinders, or lithium battery packs from damaged equipment. Pinellas County operates a household hazardous waste facility for small quantities, and commercial generators need a licensed hazmat hauler. We also do not perform structural demolition of the building shell – for interior tear-out see interior demolition.

How a Warehouse Cleanout Works

1. Walkthrough and Written Quote

We walk the floor with you, note the racking runs, the pallet positions still loaded, dock access, and ceiling height. You get a flat written price before anyone touches a pallet jack. For large facilities we can quote from photos and a floor plan if you are managing the property remotely.

2. Salvage and Donation Sort

Before anything goes in a truck we separate what still has value. Undamaged pallet rack, usable shelving, and functioning equipment often get resold or donated. Sellable metal is pulled for the scrap yard, and clean cardboard is baled for recycling. This step frequently lowers your final invoice and always lowers what hits the landfill.

3. Teardown and Load-Out

Crews break down racking with the right tools, protect epoxy and sealed concrete floors, tape off dock plates, and stage loads so forklift traffic keeps moving. We work in zones so an active half of the warehouse can keep shipping while the other half is cleared.

4. Sweep and Handover

We finish broom-swept, pull anchor bolts flush where racking was removed, and photograph the empty space for your records. If you need the floor ready for a landlord inspection, tell us at quote time and we will schedule the final sweep for the morning of your walkthrough.

What a Warehouse Cleanout Costs in Pinellas County

We price warehouse cleanouts by volume and labor, not by guesswork. Small partial clears – a single rack run, a pile of broken pallets, one office – typically land in the low hundreds. A full building cleanout of 5,000 to 20,000 square feet is quoted on site because racking teardown hours vary enormously between bolt-together rack and welded structural rack.

Three things move the number: total volume, disassembly labor, and disposal class. Loose cardboard and clean wood are cheap to divert. Mixed construction debris and treated wood cost more at the transfer station. Heavy metal often offsets cost because we recover scrap value and credit it back.

Your quote is all-in: labor, truck, fuel, dump fees, and recycling. There are no per-item surcharges added at the end and no fuel line item invented on the invoice. If we find more than we quoted – a hidden mezzanine full of dead stock is a classic – we stop and re-quote before we continue rather than billing you a surprise.

For very large ongoing projects, a roll-off dumpster on site is sometimes cheaper than repeated labor visits. We rent those too; see commercial dumpster rental or dumpster rental and we will tell you honestly which option costs you less.

Who Books Warehouse Cleanouts

Property managers and commercial landlords call us between tenants when a departing business leaves racking, pallets, and junk behind. Operations managers book us for annual dead-stock purges and 5S cleanups. Business owners closing, downsizing, or relocating use us to empty the building by the lease end date. General contractors bring us in after a build-out to clear debris before final inspection.

We also work with bankruptcy trustees and liquidators who need whatever the auction did not sell removed quickly, and with real estate brokers who cannot show an industrial space full of somebody else’s abandoned inventory.

Why Pinellas Businesses Use Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal

We are locally owned and based here, not a national call center that subcontracts your job to whoever answers. Our crews are background-checked, uniformed, and fully insured, and we can send a certificate of insurance to your property manager before we arrive – most industrial parks require one. We give flat written pricing, we show up in the window we promised, and we divert everything we reasonably can to recycling and donation instead of defaulting to the landfill.

Warehouse Cleanouts in St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa

St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa are the three markets we book the most warehouse cleanouts in. If you are anywhere in Pinellas County or across the bay in Hillsborough County, you are inside our normal route.

St. Petersburg, FL

St. Petersburg is our home city and the shortest drive we make, which is why warehouse cleanouts here is the easiest to fit in on short notice. From Snell Isle and Old Northeast down through Historic Kenwood, Greater Woodlawn, Lakewood Estates and the Skyway Marina District, we already know which streets have rear alley access and which ones need a smaller truck. Details on our St. Petersburg coverage.

Clearwater, FL

Clearwater work is a daily thing for us. From the condo towers on Sand Key to the single-family blocks around Countryside and On Top of the World, warehouse cleanouts here is usually about access rules more than volume — HOA approval, service elevators, restricted haul hours. We deal with all of it so you do not have to. More on our Clearwater junk removal coverage.

Tampa, FL

Yes, we cross the bay. Tampa warehouse cleanouts is booked the same way everything else is, covering Downtown, Water Street, Harbour Island, Bayshore Beautiful, Seminole Heights, Carrollwood, Westchase and Temple Terrace. Because Tampa is in Hillsborough County, bridge time and a different tipping fee are baked into the quote — there is no surprise bridge surcharge added at the end. See the full Tampa service page.

The Rest of Pinellas County

Everywhere else in the county gets the same crews and the same pricing. That covers Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, East Lake, Gulfport, Kenneth City, South Pasadena and Tierra Verde, along with every beach town from St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island up through Madeira Beach, Redington Beach, Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Indian Shores, Indian Rocks Beach and Clearwater Beach. The Belleair municipalities — Belleair, Belleair Beach, Belleair Bluffs and Belleair Shore — are covered, and on the Hillsborough side so are Westchase and Gandy. The Pinellas County page lists it all.

Not sure whether your address is inside the line? Call 727-240-7033 and ask. We would rather tell you honestly that a job is outside our range than take a deposit and cancel on you.

Warehouse Cleanout Frequently Asked Questions

Do you tear down pallet racking?

Yes. We disassemble and haul away bolt-together and clip-style pallet rack, cantilever rack, wire decking, and industrial shelving. Structural welded rack and very tall systems are quoted on site because the teardown labor is higher. Undamaged rack is often resold or donated rather than scrapped, which can reduce your invoice.

How fast can you clear a warehouse?

Most partial cleanouts are done the same day. A full 5,000 to 20,000 square foot building typically takes one to three days depending on racking teardown. If you have a hard lease-end date, tell us at quote time and we will build the schedule backward from it.

Can you work around our shipping schedule?

Yes. We regularly work in zones, after hours, or on weekends so receiving and outbound shipping keep running. Just tell us which dock doors and aisles must stay clear and we will stage the work around them.

Do you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. We are fully insured and can send a certificate of insurance naming your property manager or building owner before the job starts. Most Pinellas County industrial parks require one and we handle that paperwork routinely.

What happens to our old inventory and equipment?

We sort before we dump. Usable equipment, shelving, and non-branded goods are donated or resold when possible, metal goes to a scrap yard, and clean cardboard goes to recycling. Only what genuinely cannot be diverted goes to the transfer station.

Can you destroy branded or defective product?

We can haul branded dead stock to disposal, but we are not a certified destruction vendor and cannot issue a certificate of destruction. If your brand protection policy requires witnessed destruction, use a licensed destruction service. We are happy to handle everything else on the same job.

Do you remove hazardous materials?

No. We cannot take drums of solvents, waste oil, paint, industrial chemicals, asbestos-containing material, pressurized cylinders, or damaged lithium batteries. Those require a licensed hazardous waste hauler. Pinellas County runs a household hazardous waste facility for small residential quantities.

Is a dumpster cheaper than a full-service cleanout?

Sometimes. If your own staff can load over several days, a roll-off dumpster is usually cheaper. If you need it gone fast with no internal labor, full-service costs less overall once you account for staff time. We quote both and tell you honestly which one wins.

What areas do you serve?

We cover all of Pinellas County including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, and the beach communities. Call 727-240-7033 to confirm coverage for your facility.

Do you offer warehouse cleanouts in Tampa, FL?

Yes. Tampa is a regular part of our route, not a special trip. We cross the Howard Frankland, Gandy and Courtney Campbell bridges for warehouse cleanouts in South Tampa, Hyde Park, Palma Ceia, Seminole Heights, Ybor City, Westchase, Carrollwood, Temple Terrace and New Tampa. Tampa is in Hillsborough County, so loads tip at Hillsborough facilities instead of the Pinellas plant. That difference is already in the number we quote you — there is no bridge surcharge bolted on at the end.

How fast can you get to Clearwater for warehouse cleanouts?

Clearwater is our second-busiest market, so same-day or next-day is normal. Jobs in Countryside, Skycrest, Morningside and the US-19 corridor are straightforward. Anything on Clearwater Beach, Sand Key or Island Estates we schedule early in the morning, because the Memorial Causeway and beach parking will wreck an afternoon window. If the building needs a certificate of insurance or a reserved service elevator, tell us when you book and we handle it.

Which cities do you serve besides St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa?

All of Pinellas County. Inland that is Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar and East Lake. On the water it is St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Redington Beach, Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Clearwater Beach and Tierra Verde. We also cover Gulfport, Kenneth City, South Pasadena, Belleair, Belleair Beach, Belleair Bluffs and Belleair Shore, plus Westchase and the Gandy corridor on the Hillsborough side.
