Junk Removal Pricing in St. Petersburg, FL
Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal prices by volume – how much space your items take up in the truck – and you get a flat written price before we start any work. No hourly meter running, no number that grows once the truck is loaded, and no fuel surcharge invented at the end. We serve St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, Pinellas Park, and all of Pinellas County.
What Your Price Always Includes
- All labor – our crew does the lifting, carrying, and loading
- Carry-out from anywhere – upstairs, attic, garage, or backyard
- Disassembly when needed to get items through a doorway
- Truck, fuel, and travel within our service area
- Landfill and transfer station fees
- Recycling and donation drop-off
- Sweep-up of the area when we finish
Volume Pricing Tiers
Our pricing scales with how much room your load takes:
- Single item – one mattress, sofa, or appliance; our lowest-cost service (single item pickup)
- Minimum load – a few items or a small pile
- Quarter truck – a small room or a modest garage corner
- Half truck – a full room, a typical garage cleanout, or a renovation pile
- Three-quarter truck – a large multi-room clearing
- Full truckload – a whole house cleanout or major project
- Multiple loads – estate and hoarding cleanouts, quoted as a complete project
Because every job is different, we give you a real number for your specific load rather than publishing a rate card that would be wrong for most people. Text a photo to 727-240-7033 and you will usually have a price within minutes.
What Changes the Price
Volume Is the Main Factor
The more space your items occupy in the truck, the higher the price – and the more you consolidate into one visit, the less each item costs. Most of the price is getting a truck and crew to your address, so the second and third items add far less than the first.
Weight Matters for Heavy Debris
Concrete, tile, brick, roofing, dirt, and plaster are priced differently from household junk, because transfer stations charge by weight. A half truck of broken concrete costs more than a half truck of furniture. Tell us if your load is heavy material so the quote is right the first time.
Access Affects Labor
Stairs, long carries, tight doorways, elevator buildings, and after-hours-only commercial loading all add crew time. We build that into the quote upfront. What we will not do is quote low and add a stair charge once the crew is standing in your living room.
Special Disposal Items
A few things carry a modest additional disposal cost because they legally require special handling: refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners need certified refrigerant recovery under federal law, and mattresses and electronics have their own disposal requirements. These are disclosed in your quote, never added afterward.
Honest Ways to Pay Us Less
We would rather tell you the truth and earn your next job than squeeze the most out of this one.
Check Free Curbside Bulk Collection First
Pinellas County municipalities offer curbside bulk collection with item limits, size restrictions, and set schedules. If your item qualifies and you can wait for the pickup date, it costs you nothing. Call your city’s solid waste department. If your load exceeds the limits, contains material they will not take, or you simply cannot wait, that is when we make sense.
Stack It Curbside Yourself
If you can move items to the curb, driveway, or an open garage, curbside pickup is our least expensive service because you have already done the labor-intensive part.
Combine Everything Into One Visit
Clearing the garage, the old patio set, and the dead fridge together costs far less than three separate trips. If you have a project coming, wait and do it all at once.
Consider a Dumpster for Long Projects
If you are doing a renovation over several days and loading it yourself, a roll-off dumpster is often cheaper than repeat labor visits. We rent those too and will run the comparison honestly rather than steering you toward the bigger service.
Sell or Donate Valuable Items
Quality furniture, working appliances, free weights, and slate pool tables often have real resale value. If it will sell, you come out ahead. And scrap metal, appliances, and vehicles carry recovery value we credit against your bill.

Junk Removal Pricing Frequently Asked Questions
How do you determine the price?
By volume, meaning how much space your items take up in the truck. You get a flat written price before any work begins. Heavy debris like concrete and tile is priced by weight instead, because transfer stations charge by weight.
Is the disposal fee included in the quote?
Yes. Labor, carry-out, disassembly, truck, fuel, landfill and transfer station fees, recycling, and donation drop-off are all in one number. You will not receive a separate disposal invoice afterward.
Can I get a price without an in-person visit?
Yes, for most jobs. Text or email photos to 727-240-7033 and tell us what floor the items are on. We usually respond with a flat price within minutes. Larger cleanouts get a free on-site estimate.
Do you charge extra for stairs or long carries?
Access is built into the quote upfront, so tell us about stairs, tight doorways, or elevator buildings when you request a price. We do not quote low and then add a stair charge once the crew has arrived.
What if the job turns out bigger than quoted?
We stop and re-quote before continuing rather than billing you a surprise. That happens occasionally on cleanouts where a storage area or attic was not mentioned, and we would rather have the conversation than send an unexpected invoice.
Is there a cheaper option than hiring you?
Sometimes, and we will tell you. Pinellas municipalities offer free curbside bulk collection with limits and set schedules. If your item qualifies and you can wait, it costs nothing. Stacking items curbside yourself also lowers our price significantly.
Why do refrigerators cost a little more?
Because federal law requires refrigerant to be recovered by a certified technician before disposal. Freezers and air conditioners are the same. That cost is disclosed in your quote upfront rather than added afterward.
Do you raise prices after a hurricane?
No. Florida law prohibits price gouging during a declared state of emergency, and beyond the law it is simply not how we operate. Our post-storm pricing reflects our normal rates.
Is a dumpster cheaper than full-service removal?
If you are loading it yourself over several days, usually yes. If you want it gone today with no labor from you, full service typically costs less overall. We rent both and will run the comparison honestly for your project.
Junk Removal Pricing at a Glance
We price by the volume your items take up in the truck, not by the hour and not by the item. One of our trucks equals about seven pickup truck loads. You get a rough range over the phone or from photos texted to 727-240-7033, and a firm, all-in price on site before we load anything. That price includes labor, hauling, disposal and taxes.
| Truck space used | Volume | Roughly equivalent to |
|---|---|---|
| 1/4 load | 3.75 cubic yards | About 1–2 pickup truck loads — a few pieces of furniture or a small garage corner |
| 1/2 load | 7.5 cubic yards | About 3–4 pickup truck loads — a bedroom set, appliances, or a single-room clear-out |
| 3/4 load | 11.25 cubic yards | About 5 pickup truck loads — a full garage or a small apartment cleanout |
| Full load | 15 cubic yards | About 7 pickup truck loads — a whole-home or estate cleanout |
Environmental and Special-Handling Fees
These are the only add-ons, and we tell you about them before we load, never after:
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Monitors and televisions under 200 lbs | $10 each |
| Monitors and televisions over 200 lbs | $25 each |
| Bed bug–infested items | $300 per load |
| Tires | $5 each |
What Changes Your Price
| Factor | Effect on price |
|---|---|
| Volume | The main driver — how much space your items take in the truck |
| Material weight | Dense material such as concrete, dirt, tile and roofing costs more per yard to dispose of |
| Access | Stairs, long carries, tight condo hallways and elevator buildings take more labor |
| Restricted items | The environmental fees listed above |
| Full service vs. dumpster | A roll-off you load yourself is usually cheaper than full-service hauling if you have the time |
Honest note: for a small amount of curbside bulk items, your city’s free municipal bulk pickup may cost you nothing. We will tell you when that is the better option.
