Who We Are

Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal is a locally owned and operated business dedicated to serving the St. Petersburg community.

The company was founded in 2021 by Joseph O’Donnell, a St. Petersburg native, and has grown almost entirely by word of mouth into one of the highest-rated haulers in Pinellas County — 4.9 stars across 175+ Google reviews. We are not a franchise. Every truck, every driver and every dumpster belongs to us, which is why we can promise professionalism, punctuality and a price that does not change after the work starts for both residential and commercial clients.

About Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal

Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal is a locally owned junk removal, cleanout, demolition, and dumpster rental company based in Pinellas County, Florida. We serve St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, and every beach community along the Gulf.

We are not a franchise. When you call 727-240-7033, you reach people who live and work in these neighborhoods – not a national dispatch center that subcontracts your job to whoever is available.

What We Believe About This Work

Junk removal is a business people call during a stressful week. Somebody died, somebody is moving, a storm took the roof off, a tenant left a mess, or a parent is going into care. How a crew behaves on that day matters more than the price on the quote.

So we built the company around a few commitments we do not bend on:

  • Flat written pricing before work starts – no hourly meter, no number that grows once the truck is loaded
  • Background-checked, uniformed, fully insured crews – people you are comfortable having inside your home
  • Donation and recycling before disposal – the landfill is the last option, not the default
  • Honest limits – we tell you when a job legally requires a licensed trade instead of taking the money
  • No price gouging after storms – our post-hurricane rates are our normal rates

Meet the Owner: Joseph O’Donnell

Joseph O’Donnell founded Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal in 2021. He was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, so the neighborhoods on our service map are not lines on a spreadsheet to him — they are the streets he grew up on, from the Old Northeast and Historic Kenwood to Gulfport and the beaches.

That is the reason the company runs the way it does. Joseph built the business around three rules: show up when we say we will, quote the real price before the work starts, and keep as much material out of the landfill as possible. You can reach him and the crew directly at 727-240-7033, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Outside of work, Joseph is a lifelong sports fan who spends his free time in the gym, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family around Tampa Bay.

What We Do

Residential

Full residential junk removalfurniture, mattresses, appliances, garage, attic, and whole-house cleanouts, plus single item pickup when you just need one thing gone.

Sensitive Cleanouts

Estate cleanouts, hoarding cleanouts, senior housing, and assisted living cleanouts. These jobs need patience and discretion, not speed. We sort carefully, set aside anything that looks meaningful, and work with families who are often coordinating from out of state.

Commercial

Business junk removal for offices, retail, restaurants, and warehouses, with dedicated property management and HOA accounts.

Demolition and Dumpsters

Non-structural demolition with debris removal included, and roll-off dumpster rental for projects you are handling yourself.

Storm Response

Hurricane and storm debris removal countywide. Pinellas is a peninsula that takes surge from both the Gulf and Tampa Bay, and we are here the week after the storm because this is where we live.

How We Handle Your Stuff

The easy thing in this business is to load everything into a truck and drive it to a transfer station. We do not work that way, and it is worth explaining what actually happens to your items.

Donation First

Usable furniture, working appliances, household goods, clothing, and mobility equipment are offered to local Pinellas nonprofits. We are honest about the limits here: charities have real standards and decline torn upholstery, stained mattresses, and broken appliances. We do not promise donation we cannot deliver.

Recycling Second

Scrap metal goes to a recycler, electronics to an electronics recycler, cardboard to a paper mill, and clean concrete to a crusher for reuse as road base. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners are routed for certified refrigerant recovery, which federal law requires.

Disposal Last

Only what genuinely cannot be donated or recycled goes to the transfer station.

Things We Will Not Take

Household hazardous waste – paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, propane tanks – must go to the Pinellas County household hazardous waste facility. We also do not handle medical or biohazard waste, sharps, or asbestos, and we are not a licensed mold remediation or pest control company. We would rather point you to the right vendor than create a problem you inherit later.

Working With Us

Getting a Price

Text or email photos to 727-240-7033 and we quote most jobs within minutes. Larger cleanouts, demolition, and commercial projects get a free on-site estimate with no obligation. See our pricing page for how volume pricing works.

Insurance and Credentials

We are fully insured and provide certificates of insurance to condo associations, HOAs, property managers, commercial buildings, and general contractors – routinely, and in advance, because most Pinellas properties require one on file before a vendor works on site.

What We Ask of You

Tell us the real situation – the actual volume, the stairs, the tight gate, the bed bugs, the hoarding conditions. None of it is embarrassing and none of it changes whether we take the job. It only changes whether we arrive with the right crew and equipment, which is the difference between a job that goes smoothly and one that does not.

About Elephants Dumpster Rental & Junk Removal Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a franchise or locally owned?

We are locally owned and operated in Pinellas County. When you call 727-240-7033 you reach people who live and work in these neighborhoods, not a national dispatch center that subcontracts your job to whoever is available.

What areas do you serve?

All of Pinellas County, including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, and every beach community along the Gulf from Clearwater Beach down to Tierra Verde.

Are your crews insured and background-checked?

Yes. Every crew member is background-checked, uniformed, and fully insured. We provide certificates of insurance to condo associations, HOAs, property managers, and commercial buildings in advance, since most require one on file before a vendor works on site.

What actually happens to my items?

Donation first, recycling second, disposal last. Usable goods go to local nonprofits, metal to scrap recycling, electronics to an electronics recycler, cardboard to a paper mill, and refrigerant appliances get certified refrigerant recovery as federal law requires.

What will you not take?

Household hazardous waste including paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, and propane tanks must go to the Pinellas County facility. We also do not handle medical or biohazard waste, sharps, or asbestos, and we are not a mold remediation or pest control company.

How do I get a quote?

Text or email photos to 727-240-7033 and we quote most jobs within minutes. Larger cleanouts, demolition, and commercial projects get a free on-site estimate with no obligation and no pressure.

Do you raise prices after hurricanes?

No. Florida law prohibits price gouging during a declared state of emergency, and beyond the law it is not how we operate. We live here and ride out the same storms, so our post-hurricane rates are our normal rates.

Do you handle estate and hoarding cleanouts?

Yes, and we treat them differently from ordinary hauling. Those jobs need patience and discretion, careful sorting, and setting aside anything meaningful. We frequently work with families coordinating from out of state and provide photo documentation.

What do you need to know when I book?

The real situation: actual volume, stairs, tight access, and any conditions like infestation or hoarding. None of it is embarrassing or changes whether we take the job. It only determines whether we arrive with the right crew and equipment.
