Can you remove an in-ground pole set in concrete?

Yes. We can cut the pole at or below grade and backfill, or excavate the entire concrete footing if you want the ground completely clear for landscaping or future construction. Full footing excavation costs more because digging out that block of concrete is real work.

Do you fill in the hole afterward?

Yes. We backfill and level so there is no trip hazard or sunken spot in your yard. Leaving an open hole where a pole used to be is both a safety issue and something a home inspector will flag.

What about a portable hoop with a sand or water base?

We drain the base before moving it. A loaded portable base holds hundreds of pounds of sand or water, and wheeling it across a driveway fully loaded is how driveways get cracked and backs get injured. Draining first is standard.

Is my old hoop safe to take down myself?

Often less safe than it looks. Old poles rust from the inside at the soil line, so a hoop that appears solid can be structurally compromised. The backboard alone weighs 60 to 100 pounds and sits ten feet up.

Can you remove a hoop mounted to my roof or garage?

Yes. Roof and wall-mounted systems come down along with their brackets and hardware. We take the backboard and rim off first, then the mounting hardware, and we can advise on patching the fastener holes afterward.

Will you check for irrigation lines before digging?

Yes. Florida yards are full of shallow irrigation and sprinkler lines, and we check for them along with utilities before any excavation. Hitting an irrigation main turns a simple removal into an expensive afternoon for everyone.

Do you recycle the pole and backboard?

Steel poles, rims, and mounting hardware go to scrap metal recycling. Acrylic and glass backboards are disposed of properly. If the entire system is in genuinely good condition, we will look at donating it instead of scrapping it.

How much does it cost?

It is one of our more affordable single-item jobs and we can usually quote flat from photos. Portable systems are cheapest, in-ground cut at grade is modestly more, and full concrete footing excavation is the highest.

Can you take other yard items on the same trip?

Yes, and it saves you money. Most people calling about a hoop also have a trampoline, playset, old fence, or yard debris to clear. One combined visit costs far less than booking separate trips for each item.
